It was certainly a fun-filled and exciting night for both cadets and seniors! Thank you to everyone who came out and made this a great night! We look forward to seeing a 2nd Annual Group 3 Banquet!
The night began with the presentation of our Nation's Colors and a POW/MIA memorial table presented by the Wesley Chapel Cadet Squadron Honor Guard and invocation with1st Lieutenant Chaplin Robert Rector, Group 3's Chaplin. Shortly after dinner was served we enjoyed listening to the personal speech and powerpoint presentation, "The President's Communicator: Behind the Scenes at the White House" given by our guest speaker Lieutenant Colonel Phil Zedonek, Florida Wing's Vice Commander. This was such an interesting topic and we feel privileged and honored that he was able to share it with us! Following Lt. Col. Zedonek's many awards were presented to various cadets and senior members.
Our very own Captain Joyce Lampasona, Wesley Chapel Cadet Squadron's Commander, was honored with the Region Meritorious Service Award!! Congratulations Ma'am we are proud of you! Additionally, our own Cadet Major Alec Lampasona was awarded the Cadet Officer of the Year for Group 3! After all awards were presented, pictures were taken, and hands were shaken we were ready to "start the party"! Our local DJ (more about him below) turned up the music and got the party started as the cadets and seniors either grabbed their desserts or flocked to the dance floor. The night was concluded with the remaining guests gathering together to sing "God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood, a song close to the hearts of many of our members.
